1. About FixNShare
FixNShare is a platform where users can find, share, and learn from repair solutions, including repair instructions, videos, photos, and other community-provided content.
2. Information we collect
We may collect information including:
- Name and email address when you create or use an account.
- Profile information provided through your login provider.
- Repair posts, photos, videos, comments, ratings, and other content you submit.
- Saved repairs, votes, repair results, and other activity on FixNShare.
- Technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, and basic usage data.
3. Sign-in providers
FixNShare may use third-party authentication providers such as Google and Clerk to allow users to create accounts and sign in securely.
When you sign in using Google, FixNShare may receive basic account information such as your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
4. How we use information
We may use your information to:
- Provide and operate FixNShare.
- Authenticate users and maintain user accounts.
- Display and manage repair content.
- Save user preferences, votes, and repair results.
- Improve search, recommendations, and platform functionality.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and security problems.
- Communicate with users about their accounts or the service.
5. User-generated content
Content that you choose to publish on FixNShare may be visible to other users and, where applicable, to the public.
Do not upload personal, confidential, or sensitive information that you do not want others to see.
AI assistance
When you choose an AI feature, the relevant photo or repair description is sent to OpenAI. Photos are resized in your browser and are not saved to our video storage by the AI feature. The repair-guide feature uses your written description; it does not analyse your video. Parts lookup may use web search with the model and part details you provide. Diagnosis may also search manufacturer instructions using the model and problem description. Earlier notes and answers are kept in page memory while you continue a diagnosis and are included in subsequent AI requests. Reloading or leaving the page clears that history. Do not include personal or confidential information in AI requests. We request that API responses are not stored as response history; provider processing and retention policies still apply. We store a daily request count per signed-in user to limit usage. AI suggestions can be wrong and must be checked before use.
If you explicitly save a confirmed repair outcome, we store the item, exact model, problem, checks, repair description and test result in our database, linked to your account. Matching reports can be shown to other signed-in users and sent to OpenAI as unverified community experience during diagnosis. We do not include your account name or identifier in those reports. No diagnosis or photo is automatically saved to this repair memory. Do not include personal or confidential information. You can view and delete your reports in the AI assistant. Deletion excludes the report from new lookups; already displayed responses and provider retention are not retroactively removed. Reports remain until you delete them or request account data deletion. A user confirmation is not independent verification of a repair.
6. Ownership and contact details
FixNShare is operated by Arnold Schumann. The FixNShare name, original website content, product experience, design, software, branding, and related materials are owned by Arnold Schumann unless another owner is clearly stated.

7. Service providers
FixNShare may use third-party service providers for services such as authentication, hosting, databases, storage, analytics, and artificial intelligence features.
Optional analytics and advertising measurement, such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel, only load after consent. These tools help us understand page views, searches, AI assistant usage and repair submissions. You can decline analytics without blocking the core service.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to FixNShare.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain user accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the platform.
8. Account and data deletion
Users may request deletion of their FixNShare account and associated personal information by contacting us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. However, no internet-based service can guarantee complete security.
10. Children
FixNShare is not intended for children who are not legally permitted to use online services in their country without parental consent.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as FixNShare develops. The latest version will always be available on this page.
